profile
Offering both commercial and residential architectural and full-service interior design, Lauren Sanchez Design Ltd. has a reputation for thoroughness in detail, excellent client relations and creating spaces that are thoughtful, elegant, comfortable, timeless and a true reflection of the client. We excel at bringing our client's vision to life, and work to see that each project is uniquely it's own.
A team composed of Architects and accredited Interior Designers, we work to imagine all aspects of the design process, from a high-energy creative beginning to a thoughtful and thorough set of documents that works to help the Construction Team assemble the vision as beautifully as it is intended. We share a passion for all styles of design - from maximalist traditional, to collected eclectic, to minimalist modern - and always work to create spaces, regardless of their aesthetic, that are authentic in design and reflect the soul and essence of the inhabitant.
LS Design has been fortunate to work with a variety of project types including: residential, corporate, healthcare, education, civic, institutional, hospitality, retail, and restaurants. We are honored to have had our work recognized for design excellence by the American Institute of Architects (AIA), International Interior Design Association (IIDA), The City of Charleston, The Preservation Society of Charleston, The Council of Educational Facility Planners International (CEFPI), the Post and Courier, and are regularly featured in Charleston Magazine and Charleston Home and Design.

Lauren Sanchez
President, Principal Designer
Originally from Winter Park, Florida, Lauren Sanchez took professional degrees in both architecture and interior architecture from Auburn University's College of Architecture, Construction and Design. She spent nearly eight years with LS3P Associates where she was named senior associate and was lead designer on multiple AIA, IIDA and ASID award-winning projects. Lauren is NCIDQ certified (National Council for Interior Design Qualification) and established Lauren Sanchez Design Ltd in April of 2008. Living in downtown Charleston with her husband Jonathan and two young children, Evelyn and Alexander, Lauren works to stay involved in the Charleston community. She has served as a board member with the Children's Museum of the Lowcountry and as Board Chair for the Friend's of James Simons Montessori, where her children attended school. Lauren is also co-owner of Charleston's only independently owned bookstore, Blue Bicycle Books.

Kayla Gallion
Associate Principal Designer
Born and raised in Marion, North Carolina, Kayla Gallion graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Interior Design from the CIDA-accredited Appalachian State University. Beginning her career in Western North Carolina, she gained experience in several areas of design, including as a designer and sales associate for Blowing Rock Furniture Gallery, a residential design intern with Ambiance Interiors in Asheville, and an instructor of visual literacy courses in Appalachian State’s Interior Design program. In April 2019, she finally pursued her dream of moving to Charleston and joined Lauren Sanchez Design. She currently resides in Charleston with her partner Xan, and they love to fill their free time with long downtown walks, DIY projects for their ca. 1850s apartment, and visits to local theatre (often with Xan in the cast!)

Liz Mirick
Senior Interior Architect
Originally from Summerville, South Carolina, Liz Mirick graduated from Clemson University and Florida State University with advanced degrees in Architecture and Interior Design, respectively. Beginning her architectural career, Liz worked in residential and commercial firms in Charleston while becoming a registered architect in the state of South Carolina. Liz also taught interior design at The Art Institute in Charleston and Anderson University, where she led her students to state and national recognition in multiple ASID student competitions. Before joining Lauren Sanchez Design in May 2019, Liz worked on her own, specializing in small residential and commercial projects throughout the Lowcountry. Liz resides in her hometown of Summerville, where she is active in local mission projects through her church.

Frances Oliver
Design Coordinator
Frances hails from Connecticut and went to school in Chicago, where she studied Arts Management and Entrepreneurship and honed in on her operational and problem-solving skills through years in office management and event planning. Her husband, Eric, was presented with an unexpected opportunity in Charleston and they took a blind leap and moved to the area - it would be better weather, after all. Upon arrival, she worked as head of product development at Sideshow Press, which gave her the opportunity to combine her love and talent for artistic endeavors with her business background. She enjoyed working with products, as well as the project management component of that role. Since 2017, she has continued to use all her cumulative experience and knowledge to start her own business, taking on a variety of projects and contract roles. She loves interior design and décor, so working with Lauren Sanchez Design was a great fit for her skills, and she began as their Design Coordinator in 2020. Outside of work, Frances spends time renovating her 1930’s home with her never-ending list of new ideas and projects, perusing antique stores for rare costume jewelry, cooking vegetarian cuisine, and caring for her cats. Eric, a Senior Graphic Designer at Fuzzco, is the ultra-modern yin to her antique yang and keeps her on her toes.

Sara McEvoy
Junior Interior Designer
Nebraska native Sara graduated Summa Cum Laude from the CIDA-accredited University of Nebraska at Kearney with a degree in Interior and Product Design. Throughout school, she was able to gain valuable experience in many different sectors of the design industry such as interior architecture, product design, and graphic design. In 2025, she welcomed an opportunity to follow a long time dream of hers, moving to Charleston to pursue her career with Lauren Sanchez Design. In her free time, Sara loves to take on any kind of crafting project (most importantly needlepoint), enjoy the history and sights of town, and spend time with her family and friends.
